Michael started his Professional Career at The Royal Belfast Golf Club before moving to Laganview Golf Centre as PGA Teaching Professional. In 2003 Michael accepted the Head Professional role at Belvoir Park Golf Club, a position he continues to hold to this day.
From the beginning Michael set his mind firmly on learning the golf swing and studying what he describes as the 5 dimensions of a complete golfer. A method he uses successfully with his elite amateurs and improving players (gents, ladies and juniors) of all abilities.
Time spent watching, learning, and working with some of the world’s greatest coaches such as Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter, Bob Vokey, Harold Swash and Paul Hurrion (specialists in swing, short game and putting) has been invaluable experience.
Michael is also trained in Mind Factor Coaching techniques and is a qualified TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Instructor. Mental techniques and physical conditioning are essential for elite player performance and are at the forefront of today’s modern game.
Michael’s skill at making the most difficult seem achievable is a result of his easy approach and expertise gained over the years. His students describe him as a ‘Natural born teacher’ and if you are determined to get better and desire a player coach relationship that brings you results, then book your lesson with Michael today!
